About Us

This handsome boy started our love affair with the breed over 16 years ago! We bought Maverick as an Emotional Support dog for our son Drew, who was an adolescent struggling with depression at the time. After traditional therapy and Rx’s didn’t really seem to help, we decided we had nothing to lose and everything to gain if we tried thinking outside the box. We scoured the country for the perfect puppy.

Fortunately, we found this sweet boy in Oregon who had been chosen as Pick of the Litter by Pat Hastings, the creator of Puppy Puzzle, and an AKC /ASCA Judge, who also traveled the country as a consultant evaluating litters for top breeders. Maverick, singlehandedly did what none of Drew’s doctors were able to do; his sweet puppy antics and his intuitiveness and dedication brought my son out of the depths of depression and truly changed his life. We also realized through an exhaustive search, how few quality breeders we had in the South. Yes, there were many “backyard breeders” and a few “show breeders” but only a few who truly produced high-quality puppies that could seamlessly go from herding cattle to the show ring, or to the sofa at your child’s feet as an all American family dog. Including puppies with amazing temperaments, stunning to look at and wickedly smart.

Thankfully Maverick is still with us. Sadly, we lost our son, Maverick’s owner in December of 2017 to an aggressive form of pneumonia. Maverick suffers from dementia but is not in any pain. However, he has taken up the job of comforting and being the protector of Drew’s beautiful daughter Emma who is now 6. Unfortunately, we know our time with Maverick is drawing to a close, but we will be forever grateful for this gorgeous wiggle butt and his role in changing our lives for good by introducing us to this incredible breed. Update: It is with great sadness we share that Maverick quietly passed away in the Spring of 2021. He was the greatest dog a family could ask for. Emma misses him greatly but knows that God left him on this earth for as long as he could.

We raise our puppies the way they should be and often aren’t, without cutting corners to ensure our puppies are healthy and well socialized. We are a licensed breeder, and have been raising our pups for over 16 yrs. We raise Australian Shepherds, Aussiedoodles and Australian Mountaindoodles. We raise our puppies with proven curriculum using protocols by Puppy Culture and BadAss Breeder which we believe helps to raise a more confident, social puppy following ethical standards. All of our parents have full genetic health testing done through Paw Print Genetics and our Australian Shepherds are also DNA verified.

Puppies are raised indoors and are litterbox trained and doggie door trained. They are raised as part of our family and are handled multiple times of day. In addition, We are blessed to have a state of the Art Nursery and Boarding facility that is under heat and air with lots of large play yards and acreage to run on. In addition, we are a training facility and boarding facility for our past puppies. Something that makes us unique is our partnership with our local high schools where we offer paid internships for student workers that are in the pre-vet or Agricultural program in school. This gives the students hands on, real world experience and gives our puppies lots of extra loving hands! My husband and I are blessed to be retired professionals with degrees that are able to devote 100% of our time to our program.
